My visa experience
Date : 4 June 2015
Time slot : 9 am
Counter no. 38
I reached at the consulate at 7.30 in the morning. There was already a huge queue of people waiting to go in. We were told to wait.
The queue for 9am started at around 8.15 so it is advisable that reaching at most 1 hour earlier is OK.
After all the initial checking of documents , I was asked for a photograph. I used to wear spectacles earlier. Now, on my passport there is a pic of mine wearing spectacles so they asked for a pic with no spectacles. Since, I didn’t have any without specs I was asked to click photograph at counter number 15. Then, after that I was sent to queue for visa interview. So, people with same case take care & take your current photograph with you.
Vo: looking @ I20 so you r going to auburn
Me : yeah
VO: go tigers!
Me : you watch football?
VO: of course! I am an american!
Me: heeheehaha blah blah
VO: so why auburn?
Me: I see MS as a unique life exp & not only study… (Cutting me off)
VO: your visa is approved collect passport after 2-3 days.
P.S. whatever happens, there is always some reason behind it. Have always heard it , today got to experience it. Since, taking photograph & all delayed the process for like half an hour I was the last person in the queue for the interview . Then, to my great shock Anil Kumbale came for visainterview. He was standing in line like everybody else . He was standing behind me in line, I asked him to go ahead for the interview, which he gracefully denied. And, waited for half hour like everybody else. To my great luck I got a chance to speak to legend even if it was for a few minutes.
Hope something from this experience helps. Best luck all the people who are yet to go for visa interview. (By experience I don’t mean the last part tongue emoticon)
